Celeborn is one of the oldest legendary figures of Middle-Earth. Together with his wife he founded Lothlorien. After the Fellowship escaped from Moria they went to Lotlorien where they were led blindfolded to meet Galadriel and Celeborn. They stayed for some time in Lorien enjoying its amazing beauty. Without their leader Gandalf the Fellowship was not sure how to continue their journey from Lorien. It was Celeborn who suggested they take boats and go down the river Anduin. So he supplied them with the boats and other usefull equipment for their journey. Lady Galadriel also gave them very precious gifts to aid their efforts. After the War of the Ring Celeborn remained in Middle-earth, and founded the realm of East Lórien below the Narrows in the Wood of Greenleaves (Eryn Lasgalen). Eventually though he grew weary of his realm, and he departed and stayed for a little while with his grandsons Elladan and Elrohir in Rivendell. When he finally departed over sea it was with the last of the Noldor. This happened some time before the one hundredth and twentieth year of the Fourth Agees of Middle-Earth.
